As we navigate through the Holiday Season, The Festival of Lights, we can aspire to the colors and brightness that will be illuminating throughout the world, setting our spirits in flight for brighter days.
We’re close, there’s an excitement that is sensed. I encourage taking the time and doing what ignites your internal fire. Lost hobbies, journaling, or sitting quiet, listening to your instincts and intuition. Our beings hold an abundance of information that can be sorted through. Wouldn’t that be the ultimate gift to yourself, to work through big feelings that hold us back, what’s the risk, you taking yourself seriously? Be kind to yourself, endure your own refection and acknowledge what is missing, what needs to be modified and allow yourself fulfillment. Stay humble and stay beautiful through the process, noticing and naming things has a certain power.

SYNCHRONIZING and slowing our mind and body to focus on the basic wellness methods to refocus on the here and now in the natural surroundings and what they provide for NOURISHING the human SPIRIT. Take a minute to BREATHE in your car before you run that errand and put on your mask. Take a walk every day this month – even just ten minutes. Notice the trees, the rocks, the grass. LISTEN to your body and your surroundings. Nature has the resources for our minds to keep going and find our peace this month. Get outside and MARVEL at it all. Go easy on yourself.

TWICE DAILY: PURIFY CLEANSING OIL

AND SOMETIMES WE NEED A SMOKY MEZCAL PALOMA
2 oz mezcal
2 oz grapefruit juice, freshly squeezed
1 oz lime juice
1 oz simple syrup
sparkling water, to top off the drink
lime wedges, for wiping rim of glass
grapefruit wheel, to garnish
Combine the salt, lime zest, and chili powder in a dish. Wipe the rim of a glass with a lime wedge then roll in the salt mixture. In a cocktail shaker combine the mezcal, ice, grapefruit juice, lime juice, and simple syrup - shake for about 10 seconds, until shaker is cold. Pour into salt-rimmed glass and top off with sparkling water and a few ice cubes. Add grapefruit wheel.

When we do find the TIME to read before bed, we have been getting back to the classics. Something feels really good about taking a trip back in time. Pride and Prejudice is a romantic novel written by Jane Austen in 1813, and every bit as relevant today as it was then... a higher LOVE story and great ESCAPE. Sidenote: Always check eBay first for used options of books.

LUNAR LOVE
THE BEAVER MOON Full Moon Eclipse was on November 30th, 2020. This was the time when beavers finished preparations for winter and RETREATED into their lodges. In the 1760s, Captain Jonathan Carver heard this Native American term during his travels. Also in the REALM of animals, Deer Rutting Moon (Dakota, Lakota) refers to the mating season. Digging/Scratching Moon is a Tlingit term for when bears dig their winter dens. Whitefish Moon (Algonquin) describes the spawning time for this fish.
